Tuesday, March 20, is the first day of spring. There are many different ways of having fun this season. Everything’s blooming and becoming more alive—are you? It’s time to get out of that winter slump and enjoy the great weather! If you need some ideas about spring activities, here are just a few ways of having fun in the spring.
Now’s the perfect time to go outdoors. After the snow and cold weather has departed, you may be itching to get out of the house (or, if you have kids, to get them out of the house so they can run off some of that energy!). You can head out to a local park to walk, have a picnic, play Frisbee, or play on the playground. Some neighborhoods have installed “spraygrounds,” which are playgrounds with water sprinklers and hoses. These make awesome places for kids to play when it’s really warm or when you don’t want to deal with going to a water amusement park.
Of course, you don’t have to have kids to enjoy the spring. You can sit out on your porch and read a good book, or take your lunch outside. Instead of exercising inside, go for a jog or take a bike ride. Now’s also a great time to go shopping at an outdoor mall for a new spring outfit or two.
If you do feel like heading out to an amusement park, there are a number of different options. Most are opening up within the next month or so. Go carts, miniature golf, swimming…there are many different options. You can also take a walk through your local zoo while the weather isn’t scorching hot.
Another way of having fun during the spring is to get outdoors and work in your flowerbed or garden. While this may seem like work to some, many people find it relaxing. March is the perfect time to clear out all the dead plants, get the ground worked up, and plant new flowers.
Spring is also a good time to change up the décor in your home. Put away those heavy blankets, coats, and your winter-related decorations. The snowmen go in the closet, and the flowers come out! Add cheery spring flowers to your home in Asheboro, NC, to brighten things up! Spring decorations are usually done in pastel colors—yellow, blue, pink, and green. Before Easter, you can add eggs, chicks, ducks, and rabbits to your decorations.
Spring is a fun season—head outdoors, brighten up your house, and have a great time!
